Project Name

Enlargement of the "La Paloma" study centre.

Construction of a new building with classrooms and access for the disabled.

Battambang, Cambodia

Number of people who have worked on the project

Until now, the boys and girls of the Arrupe and Casa Lidy centers are taught English, computer science and receiving more specialized support, social entrepreneurship, etc. with specialized teachers in some classrooms of "La Paloma", but there is a lack of an adequate structure.

This project will provide the necessary training for many people to have a job.

The project consists of the construction of a new building with classrooms and access for the disabled in which more than 60 boys and girls can improve their quality of learning. It will be open to more boys and girls in the area.

The new centre will offer an academic offer to boys and girls from the Battambang area, this will provide more employment options to a rural and disabled population without resources and thus promote social integration.

Kike Figaredo: "The project envisages the construction of a new building accessible to the disabled, which will be a key location for our Arrupe Center. It includes a library, a computer room, English lessons and a teachers' room. In this way we complement the training of children and young people with disabilities and/or at risk of social exclusion in the Arrupe centre and other reception centres of the Apostolic Prefecture of Battambang.
We thank the Murúa family for their friendship and continued support, which began more than 6 years ago. Your closeness and affection has been key to providing these opportunities to our children and young people, thank you very much Fundación Maga!"
